I just got my bare escentuals light kit today which includes the light mineral foundation, fairly light mineral foundation warmth all over face color and mineral veil plus 4 brushes and a carrying case.

This is my first experience with mineral makeup and I'm hooked. I absolutely love it. It covered all my acne scars flawlessly. I don't feel like I'm wearing makeup. I don't look like I'm wearing makeup I just look like I have beautiful skin which right now I feel like I do since i got rid of my acne. My husband loves it on me. He says it makes my skin look beautiful and he can't even tell I'm wearing makeup. I told him I think it just glows and he said that was the first thing he noticed. It really does glow. When I wear it with the warm all over face color I don't even need to wear blush it gives just enough sunkissed color in all the right places. This stuff is AWESOME. I reccomend it to anyone who hasn't tried it yet and for those of you who reccomended it to me THANK YOU!

Sparkz, can you maybe put up a photo of yourself wearing the Bare Escentuals? I'm very curious about this foundation too. I'm hesitant to try it because I don't want to look powdery or really matte, but I hear some people complain that it makes them too shiny, so I'm confused about the texture of this stuff. Also my skin can be a little dry, so I don't want something that's going to emphasize dry flaky patches...

I use their makeup sometimes. I've got the fairly light foundation, and mineral veil. That's all I've got from their line, but I do like it for the summertime. It does still feel like makeup to me, and I don't think I could ever sleep in it like they claim people can, but it's pretty nice stuff.

I have BE in 1.0 and 1.2 along with Mineral Veil, Glee and Warmth. Dgirl, I think you would like it. It doesn't look powdery or matte at all. It's more of a glowy, dewy look. I like the way it looks when I apply it and I like the way it feels on my skin. The only thing I don't like is that it tends to fade faster (which I solve by using a primer first) and that the color selection is more on the yellow side. I have recommended this to several of my friends who don't wear much makeup and they all love it now. I think Glee is one of my favorite blush colors ever. I think you should give it a try.....if you have a hard time getting it over there let me know and I can get it and send it to you. You can usually get a pretty good deal buying it on ebay or dermstore.com.

I'm going on vacation for a week today so I wont be online but when I get back I'll definitly post pics of it on me. I agree that its not powdery or matte at all its dewy or glowing as my husband said. It doesn't make me shiny it just has those light reflecting pigments in it like other makeup has and they make you glow. It looks like a powder in the jar but when you swipe it across your skin it turns into almost a creamy texture its really bizarre stuff. I showed my husband what it does when you put it on and he kept touching it cause he thought it was strange since it totally changes consistancy when you blend it. LOL I wore it for 8 hours yesterday and it didn't budge. I wore it over all my murad products and I think the toner helped keep it in place. I also didn't leave the house yesterday so this week will be the real test. The only thing that I could have reapplied by the end of the day would have been the warmth all over face color. I kind of lost the sunkissed look by the end of the day but that's a problem easily fixed with a bit more warmth. In a few weeks I'm going to invest in some more of their blushes or I may try the aromaleigh mineral makeup brand of blush since they have so many colors. I only have regular drugstore brand blushes like CG and Revlon and I have AV and clinique but I don't really want to put that stuff on after using a foundation thats supposed to be good for my skin because I think it may defeat the purpose.

I definitely want to check this out now! So do you have to use Mineral Veil to set it, or will any loose powder do? Can you wear it without the Mineral Veil?

They finally opened a Sephora store in Canada, and I'm going to visit in the fall when I go home. If I go to the store, will they let me try the Bare Escentuals - like not just on my hand, but actually apply it? I definitely want to try it first, because it's not exactly a short trip to Toronto for me if I want to return it...

You can use another loose powder to set it.....I have but I think it looks better with the mineral veil over it. It looks best with the mineral veil over it because it tones down the shine a little. I'm sure if you go to sephora they will let you try it on your face......they are pretty good with product testers. I just saw they are opening a Sephora here in Portland and I'm so excited....it's supposed to be open by christmas!

I'm sure any loose powder will work. But, I must say, of all the BE mineral products, I use mineral veil more than anything. I've only used the foundation itself two or three times in total in the span of a year (don't like it enough to use it very often), but the mineral veil I use a LOT. I use it just as a loose powder over concealers or tinted moisturizers. It's a really great powder! :)

I guess my point is... If you're gonna buy the foundation, it's worth it to buy the mineral veil. Heck, if I could turn back time, I'd have just bought the mineral veil by itself!
