I know a lot of girls on here love this stuff and swear it stays on all day. I don't use foundation for my face, but I have this nasty scar on my stomach that I want to cover up for one night and I'll be moving a lot and the scar is from my hairling up to the bottom of my belly button so my pants will be rubbing on the scar a lot. Do you think this stuff will manage? I know Davis will recommend CoverFx but I think that will be a bit too expensive for me.

honestly, i don't think the colorstay foundation has enough coverage to cover up scars... check out cream products like Dermablend or theatrical-brand foundations like Ben Nye, Joe Blasco... they are fairly cheap and have SUPERB coverage! hths!

Mare mare, you could just pick up a tube of Max Factor Erase or even their panstick for the occasion. It will cover most anything at 9 bucks a tube. It will rub off on any fabric that touches it, like any foundation.

How much does the Coverfx foundation cost (approximately)? Just curious.

Also (this question is more for Davis) - do you think it would be possible to get a good colour match just by comparing to another foundation? My mom offered to send me some Coverfx to Korea, but I understand that selecting the colour takes some expertise. If I were to tell her my shade in another foundation that is a pretty perfect match for me (Loreal True Match in C1), do you think a salesperson would be able to select a colour for me in the Coverfx? I'm very curious to try this foundation, but I won't be back in Canada until September...

Nah, you need a precision match...you cant really estimate it and expect it to work as advertised..sadly, I guess its a no go for ya right now. The basis of the system is the precise undertone match so it looks invisible...if there are variations in the tone it wont work well.

hee hee yes I do It's from surgery that I had. It's really nasty too because the doctor wanted to take the staples out 24 hours after my surgery and it ripped open cuz obviously it was not healed enough to have the staples taken out. I wish the doctor hadn't requested that. The thing that makes me upset is that the doctor does not get in trouble for this nor does it go on her record, and I'm the one that has to live with the nasty scar.

Grr... I was hoping to find something with good coverage and won't budge. Ah well. Gotta live with the nasty scar then I guess!

At Shoppers Drug Mart it is in the 20-35 dollar range......they have a concealer/pot creme foundation and a powder foundation etc (I got both) they are very good! And long lasting! So many colour to match your skintone perfectly too

Davis - Ok, thanks, I guess I'll just have to be patient! I'll just have to treat myself to some Diorskin instead!

Pussycatdoll - thanks for the info. I didn't realize it was that much. I don't mind spending that on foundation if I know I will use it, but I don't want my mom to spend that much on foundation for me that might not match, so it's good to know.

There is a way to make it not budge. Buy what is called "sealer" from a makeup or theatre store.....it is a plasticy kind of liquid that covers the foundation so it wont rub off. Ben Nye makes some nice stuff......

If u want to do coverage regularly near fabric, invest in a bottle of liquid makeup sealer, the kind the pros use in movies...it comes off with a little alcohol and is safe.

Cheers

I wonder if there's a theatre store near me. I want to get some funky stuff that I hear are only availible at the stores. There's a Sally's near me but I don't think they'd have anything like that.

What consistency is this sealer? I bought a makeup sealer from Benefit and it's crapola for eyeshadow because it's liquid and it just takes the colour off. But it's good for sealing eyebrow colour and liner. Do you think this might work?

EDIT: oops sorry my head wasn't on straight earlier. Yuo mentioned that it's plasticy liquid. Disregard this post

Aw I'm sorry about your asshole doctor

Mines more of a ..birthmark kinda thing? Had it since I was little.

I've not personally tried this but I'm thinking of gettin this: Dermablend Leg & Body Cover Creme. I mentioned it in another thread. I dunno how well it'll cover scars but it says it covers stretch marks, tattoos and stuff like that so...!? (http://www.dermablend.com/productDetails.aspx?prodID=17)
