I'll add more as I get my stuff together and take pictures/make them. Oh yes, I can also make you ladies tutorials so you can make your own! :D

i was a pixie last year for halloween. you should make a pixie costume for this year for you. that material would be perfect. :)

Very awesome idea Debbie!

I could make a pink and and yellow skirt, with maybe say...white mesh underneath and make it REALLY REALLY poofy, but have it go out then the pointy ends drape. And I could use a metal couthanger and some white nylons and make wings - then decorate them with embroidoring and sparkles :D
A shirt though..any ideas? Maybe a yellow tank top, and I could make it tie up at the straps so it looked really prissy looking. And I could go buy a tiara and wand :D

debbie

a shirt with glitter on it. it was a tank. you could just get a plane tank and put glitter on it yourself. that would be cool. make teh ends frayed a bit,.

Its actually really easy. If you want me to, I can get the tutorial to you too.

About the jimmy beans shirt:
I had to cut off about half the shirt (orginally medium mens, and I'm about extra small womans) off on the sides, about 5 inches from the sleeves, about 3 or 4 inches off the neck. Then I took 3 inches off the sleeves, which could have been a bit more. I took about 3 inches off the bottom too, and I could take a little more. I could have made it slightly tighter, but thats okay, too late now! Well not really, but it would take about 3 more hours to make it tighter. I really like it! Hope you guys do!
More to come =0!

you defintly have a very club style. do you wear your clothes to a lot of clubs? well with the exception of the carebears lol which ive always had a weakness for! lol. i like the black shirt the best its really cute and you have a great back to show it off. the skirt also looks fab on you...the yellow one exspecially keep up the good work and keep creating? are you from canada? if you are and your intrested in going into fashion design as a carrer (this is what i want to do) then you should consider ryerson (which is a university, the one i really hope to get into its in toronto) and thers also some colleges that offer it such as blanche macdonald and one in edmonton and of course the art institutues.

I can tell you love them by the name!
Fashion school would be my second choice.
I love to cook. So much. Bake cookies cakes brownies fondues, anything. Cook chicken fish feggies stiryfry turkeys aaah I love cooking. I love how good I can make somtehing taste with just a little bit of this and that.
But - If I can't get into the school I want to for cooking ( Universaty of Holland in PEI ) then I don't want to go to any other.

Clubbing. I effing wish. I'm only 15, but I love to dancew. So thats why my choice of clothing I make show off the way a body moves when it dances. If I was to make a clothing line ever, it would be for tall skinny girls. Damnit, I hate shopping sometimes. Being 5'6 and just over 100 pounds does not make xs an xs. I fit like mediums in kids, and generally you can't find anything in kids that you could really go dancing in. I'm pretty sure you posted in my jeans thread too. Its ridiculous having a 24inch waist and 16 inch thing because even 25 inch waist has like 20 inch thigs its stupid. GAR!

Lol anyways, sorry, I got a little bit sidetracked. Like right now, my point of view is, "hey, i'm only gonna be a teenager once. I might never had a body this thing again, lets show everyone without looking like a complete skank!" Because yes, the backs of my shirt generally and 'middriff' area, are usually very small and don't have much, but I keep enough there so I don't look like a whore. harhar!

And isn't it iverson in toronto? Maybe i'm wrong!

KareBare
08-13-2005, 01:57 AM
ive never heard of iverson so im not sure. all i know is that ryerson is there. im not from toronto so im not sure what it all has.

very true.
Today I was thinking, I love to cook, and be creative. It crossed my mind that maybe if I have to do one straight for three years, i might not like it so much. Like, I'll cook all day, come home, and not wanna cook. Or design allll day, then come home and not wanan do anything.
Hm, oh well! 3 years to pick.

debbie

Learing to use a machine is very simple. Singer makes a great book that teaches you all the basics. Once you know these you can move on to more fun techniques. I am an avid sewer and like you enjoy making all kinds of clothes. Actually rigt now I am desiginging dresses for my best friend and I to wear to a ball on New Years eve. Once you start using a machine you can go crazy, that's what I did. I used to do everything by hand then I got my machine about 13 years ago and watch out. I make all kinds of things now.

My moms teaching me how to use her machine this week sometime. What kind of things do you make? I hope your dresses turn out good!
Anyways..posting pictures of my sparkly shoes. Its small but hey! Check the first post in a few minutes.

wonder why the needles keep breaking. are you going to fast? sometimes that will do it. if you push teh fabric through too fast. or if the fabric is too hard. maybe your mom needs to put a different needle in there for you as you learn. :)

Well I don't go fast at all. It works for three stitches, then get stucks. The last needle the tip broke right off! it like flew out even.
my mom says maybe its not pushed in high enough.

Wow, they're all really good :) I made my own wings for a butterfly costume I wore on my boyfriend's 18th birthday (it was fancy dress), I'll try and post a picture of them if I can work out how to do it. I also tried to make a skirt, and then the sewing machine broke the night before the party, so the skirt's still in two pieces on the table :( Maybe I'll fix it soon. Anyway, well done!

I made the general frame using quite thick wire. Then cut some fabric to the rough shape of the frame and sewed that on. It tends to pull on the fabric though so i sewed black binding tape around the edges. Then I used velvet to sew around the centre part, adding the tie parts and floaty 'tails'. Then I just put some sparkly bits on. It wasn't too difficult to do. I was happy when someone asked me where I'd bought them from and then they got annoyed when I said I'd made them :p
