"Trim-spa Bay-bee Yeah!" ...hee hee..just jokin! I have found that having a huge cup of water near me helps with appetite control for me. I know water-drinkin is boring but I try to jazz it up with lemon slices or something to keep motivated. I have tried so many quick-fixes but when "they" say to drink more water & kick up the fiber; they aren't jokin. Snacking on fruit & drinking water is what helps me as un-romantic as it sounds..LOL!

I agree. A glass of water before meals helps as it gived the impression that your stomach is already full. Hence why soup is always a good starter to have when you're going out for meals! Stop you from over indulging during the main course, and splurging on those apetising dessert trays!!
I also think if you actually be really, really disciplined for about a week or two, and control the amount of food you eat, your stomach tells you that you have over indulged quicker...and that's always a good guide to see that you have eaten enough. Your stomach basocally shrinks as the muscles lining the stomach is more contracted. That's why people who was starved in the past is unable to eat as much as they want, and get sick when they overindulge.
Apparently, smelling peppermint or mint also helps suppress the apetite. Don't know how...but it was in some magazine or other a few years ago. They usually sells it in health stores.
Hope this helps!!

I third the drinking water or I drink alot of iced green tea also.
Or maybe snack on something healthy- turkey jerky or fruit/veggies?
Also- brushing your teeth or putting a mint in your mouth can help.
I am a believer in not limiting your food intake though - just eating the *right* foods and right portions. I graze ALL day long :) It really does keep your metabalism running!

put a balanced meal on your plate and know that after you are done your plate you cant have any more. if your stomach isnt full in a hour have a snack like a apple or something. for me when im having a really hard time i put my right portions on my plate and immidetly put the left overs in the fridge before i even eat my meal....i basically only cook for myself tho so iunno how well that would work for a family who sits down to the table for dinner per say.

Ephedrine is a great appetite controller, but since that is no longer legal due to over bearing politicians I found that San's Tight works well.

For general information, ephedrine has been taken away from the market for very good reasons. Although it is very useful in asthma therapy, it has been misused a lot as a dietary supplement causing anxiety, tremors, irritability..and in several documented cases of intracranial haemorrahges (bleeding in the brain), vasculitis (inflammation of hte blood vessels), respiratory depression, coma and more than a few deaths. It has been marketed inappropriately as a harmless botanical product..but it still contains the chemical component that will accumulate in your system and cause all these side effects. It may causee you to lose weight, but bear in mind that it can also do to other damages to your body!
If you are eating properly, getting in all of your calories and essential nutrients and still find yourself hungry, get up and be active. Many times when we find ourselves wanting to eat even though we've already eaten, it's out of boredom. Doing something like going for a walk, working on a hobby or even going shopping (ok, a hobbie for many of us anyway. LOL) can take your mind off of you wanting something to eat. Also, there are times when we think we are hungry and we are actually thirsty! So drink more water! A few days to a week away from your bad habits, you probably won't be missing the "other foods". :)

Anything abused and not used correctly will harm you. If your anything less than healthy you definately shoulnd't touch it. But with correct education and proper use it is a benefit. I have never used the dosage that a bottle suggests to use......I have always used less. I don't stay on it either....I cycle it.
But.......let me ask you this......why isn't alcohol illegal? What about cigarettes? Those don't cause any damage do they? What about all the fast food......clogged arteries.....heart attacks?

Eat quality food that is high in protein. It will statisfy your appetite. You don't want to hike your blood sugar up.......you will only eat more. Don't eat sugar, refined, or processed food. Ever look into whey protein?
Eat 6 small meals a day.....every 3 hrs. This will keep your metabolism up and you wont over eat if your continuallly fueling your body with good, wholesome nutrition. ;)

I agree that everything abused, misused, overdone or underdone is harmful, even anything as innocent like eating or drinking or exercising. I posted it as a general information so people would be aware of their side effects. As you know, this is a public website that are viewed by many people, and some may not be as responsible as you are. I believe in personal choice, but I also believe in being well informed. I personally would not recommend it to anybody as a treatment of weight loss, but I do use it in other ailments as within the guidelines. I never meant to imply that you yourself have misused it, so sorry if I cause any unintended mispprehension your way. Apologies!!

I never felt like you were suggesting I misused it...so no worries or needs for apologies. You were right in pointing out that is can have serious effects, but I feel the problem is more in the ignorance of people than the herb itself. Education is the key to success in anything we choose to do. :)

are not that useful. Thermogenic agents like ephedrine taken under a doctor's directions has been shown to be very effective. I wouldnt want to say ephedrine is bad for all people, anymore than I would say antibiotics are bad,,,,it depends on how you use them.

still the best way to lose weight is to eat less and move more. Ephedrine and other agents are used with morbidly obese patients.....I have never really seen it recommended for weight loss in regular individuals.
