I'm thinking of dancing (like a mad woman) every day or something for about an hour each day for my cardio. I know of someone who did this and lost 50 pounds in about 6 months! I need to know of some good music that I can dance and really work up a sweat to. Haven't really kept up with any music lately, but I love a bit of everything. Any suggestions?

That's a really good idea!! I love dancing..my favourites are those tunes that just sticks in your head and make everybody wants to sing along and move. Ranges from motown classics, to 80s hits to classic cheesy stuff to recent dance floor fillers!! Here's where an iPOD can really benefit! Actually, pretty much the same song that I would clean my house with..upbeat, uplifting and make you go slightly nuts...Motown is probably my favourite. There's some CD collections that cater for that. Here in London, they have Floor Fillers, School Night Out, Dirty Dancing..don't know about the States though.
It all depends on your taste. What kind of music would make you get up from the table to the dancefloor? Doesn't have to be the latest thing, just enough to make you want to move!!
Good luck!!

Techno Techno Techno. :) If you keep moving to the beat even when you are tired the music will keep you going. There are some good compilations out so you can get good variety too.

I was just wondering the other day what others listen to when they exercise. It's neat that you were wondering too! In fact, thanks to my husband's debilitating Pepsi habit and good luck, I now have 12 free songs on Itunes to get so I can get new exercises. I am pretty eclectic really. Here are some songs I have on my MP3 player.
Bring me to life (Evanescence) - great for jogging especially
P---y Control (Prince, while he was nameless) - very empowering!
Stacy's Mom (Fountains of Wayne)
Shake it Like a Saltshaker (Lil Jon, et al.) and Get Low
Shake Ya Tailfeather (Nelly, Murphy Lee, and P. Diddy) OMG this is my song!
Goodies and One, Two Step by Ciara
Tilt Ya Head Back - Nelly and Christina Aguilera
God is a DJ - Pink
If Loving You is Wrong... (Faithless...it's the song that Sandra Bullock and Ben Affleck dance to at the gay bar in Forces of Nature)
Battleflag (Lo-Fidelity Allstars)
Try a Little Tenderness - Otis Redding (good transition from warmup to full workout)
Chrome (Trace Adkins)
I like a lot of Nine Inch Nails, White Zombie, Drowning Pool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and U2 as well, and Soup Dragons and Bowling for Soup are good workout songs too.
It really depends on the type of workout I'm looking for. Yoga I like chanting, Celtic inspired music, and such.

I like for working out:
Gwen Stefani or No Doubt
Pink
Nelly Furtado
Madonna (the old stuff)
Some U2 stuff..
some Garbage
The strokes, mando diao, the libertines, bloc party, franz ferdinand or a similar band
some Lenny Kravitz
Elvis Presley (the upbeat stuff)
I can't stand listening to techno-stuff (makes me agressive) or pop that's too cheesy (annoys me), so I try to stick to stuff that I'm listening to anyways and though some of it seems kinda unusual for working out, it works just fine :-)
