vacation clothing........

ok well im going to Kuwaitt this summer to visit my dad. ive been ther before a couple of winters ago I LOVE IT THERE! hahah. but it is a very 'conservative' culture. i mean its not the full veil or anything, but real tight low cut or skin bearing clothes are frown upon.....basically no cute little tank tops and mico mini's. when i go this summer its gunna be over 50!!!! thats soo hot! so i need some ideas....i love all styles.....but im drawn to vintage-boho-emo type things. but i still wear girly, athletic, punk and all those types too. so so far this is what im thinkin....i need more ideas....help
--> Tunics
--> capri's
--> sarong style skirts
--> floppy style sun hats (i think i may be too short tho....i would look like a walking sumbraro)
--> oversized glasses

i will make my outfits much better by using jewlery and stuff as accesories. or any stores taht are fashionable but appropriate for this new culture....keeping in mind that i am am 17 and dont want to dress like im older then i am. any comments or ideas would be great guys! im also going to cario........SO EXCITED!

I think that sounds like so much fun, what an interesting place to visit! I think the clothes you mentioned sound cute and all that stuff is in style right now too, especially the tunics. I would look for stuff in light weight cotton and linen which will be much cooler so you can get longer sleeves and capris but you won't get too hot. Get a couple cute cami's to wear under your tunics. Plus with cotton/linen if you pack right it won't take up much space. I think you would look cute in hats, not too big but maybe like the fisherman style ones (I think that is what they are called) plus the hat will save your haircolor in all that sun. I love sarongs too, I always have my mom bring me back a couple from hawaii when they go. I like them as a skirt, dress, over my bathing suit or even when I get out of the shower. Most of all have fun and pack lots of sunscreen!

I agree with Dayna. Stick with light cottons and linens. Synthetic stuff will suffocate you in that kind of heat!! Sounds like you have a good collection already. Don't forget sandals that have a good grip sole and sunglasses. Kuwait is pretty cheap for shopping so bring the basics, and buy stuff over there for accessories or occasions. I like multicoloured or lace shawls tied around your waist to spice up your outfits. They also have the most amazing collection of jewellery that's very cheap!!! I love ambers for the summer.
