When are you most motivated to work out and eat right? Is it when you have an event coming up, i.e., school reunion, wedding, vacation? Or, is it the time of year? What usually triggers you to want to get into shape and what makes you fall off the wagon?

For me, I get most motivated when I have an event coming up. I try all year round to stay in shape, but I try extra hard to look my best in October because I go to Las Vegas with my husband on his business trip. Everyone in his industry, which includes many of our friends and acquaintances, are there. This is especially important to me because he works in the health and fitness industry and I can't look like a slob! LOL.


What usually triggers me to start getting on the ball is when I see a picture of myself in really good shape and then look in the mirror. LOL. Or, when I am flipping through the fitness magazines and seeing how in shape the models are.


What causes me to fall off the wagon in the past few years are the holidays (who doesn't?). It's because of all the yummy holiday food. Another cause is when my twin sister comes to visit. We love to eat bad food together. LOL :D

i pretty much second everything you said! the holidays are so hard! but it's so cool that you have a twin! is she identical or fraternal?

She is identical! :)

unless i have surgeries. lol
i live in the sunshine state so it's easy to get out everyday and do something. that's one of the reasons i like living in florida.
but i am moslty very catious on the holidays, lots of temptations. lol
like right now i am down because i had surgery 3 weeks ago. but i will be motivated again shortly.

Motivation of any kind comes in the form of a coffee cup first..After that, it's the heat of summer and bikinis that can be rather motivating..lol!

first cup, just functioning in the heat is tiring. it gets freakin' hot here. you have to swim all day so you won't get hot. lol
soon as you step outside your like "i need air" lol
after the second cup your ready for action. lol :D

Mine is when I visit my mother!! Basically she taught all of us to take care of ourselves and be prudent about leading a healthy lifestyle. Every time I'm flying off to visit her, I'm a bit more careful about what I eat and wake up an hour early to do some sit ups!!

I work out on a regular basis, but on the days when I just want to sit around and do nothing, my motivation is dessert (chocolate!) or thinking about a new outfit I want (or bikini in the summertime). I allow myself to splurge once in a while if I've been "good"
