Since I started a full time job this week, I haven't had the energy to exercise much at home. By the time I get home at 8 pm I'm like "give me Connor, food, and a bed." LOL! But all that walking at the store (I work at the natural foods co-op here in Pensacola...Lara, your husband may know about Ever'man...that's where I work now!) has really helped me out this week!
We've talked about the "progress pants" and our goals and such, but I also have "mini goals". They sort of chop the main goal into attainable mini-goals so I can have small, non food rewards along the way. My latest mini goal was to be at least 143 by May 1. That basically meant losing about 7 pounds this month. So, today I weighed myself in the morning and I passed 143...I'm 141.5. HOORAY!!! And my size 8s fit very comfortably. I just bought two new pairs of shorts from Old Navy, plus 2 pairs of nice black shorts and a pair of black capris from Wal-Mart (I'm not one to turn down a cute design just because it's Wal-Mart) and they are all size 8. I'm happy with that!
Now, my next mini-goal is 136 by May 21. That's only 5.5 pounds in 3 weeks, and I consider that a healthy amount to lose. It really helps working where I do since there are allowable snacks sold. I buy sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds in bulk and since I get everything at-cost, my snacks are also cheap. And, since I pack a lunch and break-snacks every day, I am in control of what I eat. It helps more than being at home considering I would just sit here and get whatever is out there. You know what this means? This means I may just be at goal weight when I go on my vacation!!
