hey there,
i had a question. as you know i had surgery about 4 weeks ago. i went from doing 100 sit ups to none in the past 2 months because i have been sick. i want to get back to my exercising but i don't want to throw my body out either. i cycle about 10 miles for now i am going to do 5 i do this 5 days a week. i don't want to do any weight training now because i am on hormones temp. but i do want to do sit ups to strengthen my stomach and back.
what are some exericises i can do that won't strain me. i am afriad if i jump back into it i will hurt something. lol
any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks so much

Debbie--I'm so sorry I didn't see this before. I have no idea how I skipped over it. Sorry, sorry, sorry! I better check my forum subscription because it isn't emailing me when someone posts like before. ARGH!
Ok, let's get down to business. First of all, has your doctor released you to start exercising yet, or did he just say start when you felt ready? There are some great abdominal exercises that you can do that aren't strenuous. The first one is called the
Supine Alternating Leg Lift.
Lie flat on your back with arms at your sides.
Lift one leg off the floor about 3-6 inches (the lower the leg the harder the exercise) and hold for about 5-10 seconds. Lower the leg back to starting.
Alternate with the other leg.
Keep repeating until each leg has done 10 reps.
When you feel that you can do more strenuous work, lift both legs off the floor.
Debbie, if you have an exercise ball and are ready to do more than the supine leg lifts, try doing some ball crunches.

Let me know if this helps and if you need further instructions. :)

We must email one another..I have been a busy bee but yes Britt has Asperger's Syndrome and was misdiagnosed for all of these years..UGH! Anyhoo, here's the lowdown on my situation.
I think I have totally screwed up my metabolism..I was one of these people that didn't get hungry till the late afternoon and then was starving by night-time..Poor eating due to high stress. I have since gone out and bought veges, meats, whole grain breads and products, kicked up my water, etc. I know there's been some weight loss but well my scale is broken..Anyhoo, for a long time I relied on carbs, sugar, and caffeine to get me through the day and it walloped my bod; of course! How do I re-introduce exercise into my life without killling myself? I mean I need a remedial class here or program. I flunked..Aye! The long short of it; I am making over my life from the inside/out and would love any insight/input you might have..I understand your time is precious so please don't feel obligated to answer me right this moment..Whenever you have time is just fine with me! Thanks girl! You are da' bomb!

i was wondering. lately i have been going to teh work out room because i get too over heated to ride my bike outside.
so i use the work out room. this is my regemin. i use the stationary bike for 15 mintues i do a little over 5 miles.
then i use the tread mill at a fast pace of 4 for 20 minutes.
afterwards i use weights. not to heavy though because my arms are already muscular from the years of work outs. i don't want them getting any bigger. anyway, the sit ups will be next.
does this sound like i am doing enough exericise? it takes about an hour all said and done. i miss my cycling out doors but with this excess fluid i hold i get over heated. i don't sweat. so i have to be careful.
my biggest challenge is the eliptical rider. i can only do 3 mintues on it. it's hard and big. i want to get up to 15 mintues on it.. i love a good challenge. i also stretch. i want to keep up with yoga still. i find it great for flexibility. but anyway, do you think i am doing enough if i do this 4 days a week and the other 2 days do yoga?
thanks for all your help. :)
