If you were the "guest of honor" on the TLC show "What not to Wear", what is in your wardrobe now that Stacy & Clinton would insist be tossed in the charity bin?
My answer: I have a closet full of things that may be from the '80s for all I know and they'd have a field day making fun of them.

I have "phat pants" the pants that "ravers" wear with the 60 inch openings at the bottom of each leg. I was a "raver" for a long time and can't bring myself to throw them out cause I had such good times back then and I still love the music more than anything. I still have Smashing pumpkin band t-shirts to wear when I'm cleaning and dying my hair but we all need those "don't really care if I get bleach on them" shirts.
darn near everything!! LOL! (um, seriously.) :p

I have a couple of vests that aren't very flattering but I can't stand to throw them away...my hair pieces...I know they are already did a show where they ripped on a lady that wore them...I only wear them once in awhile but still.

I have all my old sports team suits and vests. That probably won't go over too well. I also have some outfits that is so not me..but at the time, I thought they were cute. I'm quite tall and have an athletic built, so a basic no no for those baby doll dresses and frilly stuff!! Fortunately, I have the brains not to ever wear them, but they are still tucked away at the back of the closet cause I can't bear to throw anything away!! Just shows that stuff that looks good on a hanger or a mannequin won't necessarily look well on you!!

My name is Stacy, and I am a pack rat.. I save EVERYTHING! So they would be in my closet(s) for a loong time, but I am proud to say I did just throw out a few bags of things (Including high waisted jeans that came up to my boobs - stone wash~) cringe!
My stuff is too old and too warn. Once I have finished getting rid of some things and readjusting my attitude, I'm going to buy some new good quality clothes more sophisticated and sleek for work and junk all my old stuff. There is too much beige and black and kaki in my wardrobe and I use to be gothy punk. Geez!!!! Whole new me is comin!!!!! ;)

Hahahahahaha Stac! I am right there with you! I keep EVERYTHING! My closet is terrifying. Ian is making me E-Bay a lot of it so we don't have to move it all the way to California. I probably only wear 5-10% of what I have. The rest of it just hangs there, and takes up space. It's such a daunting task, I don't even know where to begin.!
Whatever I don't sell on E-Bay, I'll donate to the Big Sisters organization or maybe even a battered womens shelter.

Well..I kept a stone-washed miniskirt I wore in the 80's that zips up the back..I figure it would be something nice to show my grandchildren.

The up-side is I found some things that acutally cycled back into style!! It's like shopping for free in your on closet once in awhile :p

I'm sure I can think of a few things!
My B=UD2 shirt that my older brother made when he worked at a screen printing company. It has Albert Einstein's picture but instead of sticking out his tongue, he's smoking a joint and he has red eyes. I keep it for painting. In fact I have about 5-6 painting/cleaning shirts that could probably get trashed.
My Winnie the Pooh panties. LOL Sooo unsexy.
A pair of levi cutoffs that have seen MUCH better days (including holes in places that are simply illegal to show). I kept them as "progress shorts". They may be holy, ugly, and tossable but darnit they fit. Now that they do, they can be trashed! LOL My progress pants and shorts are those clothes that I keep while losing weight. If I can fit in them, it shows that I've made progress.
I could toss all my "Fat clothes" but I am saving those. After I had Connor I couldn't fit in my pre-pregnancy clothes so I had to fall back on my fat clothes, and I even had to buy a couple more pairs of jeans. So, after I have my last kid, I'll get rid of the fat clothes.
I don't have many clothes from the eighties though, as I was born in 78. I do have my Rick Springfield concert tee shirt from when I was 8...and I'm not tossing it!
I'm with Spoltbrat--I have a pair of "progress" jeans. If they are tight, I clean up my diet. If they fit, I'm doing great. I shudder to think of what's in my closet that could be tossed out for being out dated, ugly or just plain too worn. LOL

Hey Lara! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that does this. Progress jeans sure help! Even if I can't fit in another pair of progress jeans, I can fit into a pair I've passed and that makes me feel better. I have a skirt I bought the DAY before I found out I was pregnant and that is the one I use as the ultimate progress!
I *have* to face what is in the closet since I share a closet with my husband. I think that should be illegal. I think women SHOULD get their very own closet. James hates the change of season (oh boy because winter weather is less than 3 months in Florida?) because I have to do out a change of wardrobe, which means pulling the clothes out of 5 bins, trying them on, and assessing whether they "make it" or get tossed to the charity pile. I told him any future house we move into will have separate closets. As it is, I'm just too polite to formally kick him out of the closet. I'm just slowly moving more of his clothes to the dresser. :D
I do that too! Happy to see I am not the only one! Now if only I could get someone to help me clean out my closet before I move...It's a certifiable Red Cross Disaster Area.
Not only do I have to literally fight my way in there, I have to go thru it all and prepare most of it for E-Bay. This will be my first time selling on E-Bay.
If you girls don't hear from me in a few days.....Send help...I'm probably trapped.
Special note for Erin.... I've gone back to my evil ways. But I've managed to keep myself in check.... so far  ...Lara and I have a Buddy System so I don't go completely out of control like I used to! We've agreed that all actual bidding/buying must be cleared thru her!

Haha! You've ALWAYS been the lovable demonkiki and Demonkiki can't be cured of her evil ways. It's just not allowed. If you were you wouldn't be a demon and we WOULD have to call you Princess. :D Would you believe I haven't bought any makeup since March? Seriously! I am waiting for the vacation in 2 months. I am also waiting to buy shorts and some pants. So my sister BETTER be ready to shop because I'll have to. I'm actually intending on taking a second, empty suitcase. You know I'm serious then.
That corduroy miniskirt is the last of my progress pieces. I *must* fit in that. I must!

That's right. I will kick her in the "Kik-ster" if she doesn't get my approval first. Tee hee!

You have NO idea, how much I have missed you! I really really have!
Thanks so much for the awesome post! You really had me laughing! Infact, I'm still grinning!
The funny thing about my E-Bay Addiction, is that I went about a year without buying anything!!! Isn't that amazing? You know exactly how bad I used to be!
What!?!??!??! NO make up since MARCH!?!?!??! Who ARE you and what did you do with my Erin???? Be gone, evil imposter!!! Be gone!!!
Hehehe! An extra suitcase, now that is one clever idea! And I have no doubts what so ever, that you will accomplish your goals! I know you can and will do it!

I guess my Kikster is about to be kicked! I weaseled in a pair of capris....I HAD to have them! I just had too! :o
