Oohh..I love dressing men up. My boyfriend and my friends are always my victims. Odd how I'm not really a shopping person. I think it's the idea of styling someone that is so great.

It all depends on what kind of style you want to go for. A person's idea of what's hip is very individual. If you're an Armani guy, then I don't think you can really go wrong!! Plus, it's all in the attitude. So, basically I'm picturing classic and elegant, but in a young and hip way.

I like striped shirts. I like shirts..fullstop! You can wear it over a T shirt with jeans and khakis for a dressed down look. Top with a tailored jacket, and you're all set for a night out. Guys here in London wear it with their sneakers if they're below 30, and with comfortable slip ons if you're over 30. I like those bowling shirts too, but I think it depends on your body type. The kind that Charlie Sheen and Chandler wears in Friends.

Guys have it so easy. You pretty much have the same staples all year round, but I think colours are the one thing that probably differs from each season, and maybe the type of belts and shoes you wear. Black would be a great contrast to your platinum blond hair. For the summer, you may want a softer cooler versions..like blues, purples, lavenders...

As you said before, there are no rules!! Whatever you look great in, whatver that makes you feel comfortable!!

you know the same goes for women, it's all in teh attitude.
stripes with some color would fit you well. it also gives a slimming affect. since you have the billy idol hair i bet you can fidn some dark shirts with stripes. even navy, greens, and blues can be worn year round.
my husband wears dark colors because it looks good on him.
now me i like bright colors. lol ( you already knew that).
maybe try some light kaki pants to go with dark shirts. then wear dark pants to go with lighter shirts.
hey, lol, do you like billy idol? he's going to be playing here next month. gosh how time flies. lol
but yeah i'd try various colors. you never know what will look good on you until you try it.
so have some fun, go shopping. :)

I like the striped shirts on guys too! I just went shopping with one of my guy friends and I found him a ton of these stiped shirts at the gap on sale. They look great with jeans and a t-shirt for a casual look or with khakis or dress pants. Also, shoes...make sure you have some good nice looking shoes as they can really pull an outfit together. I also think you could get away with those tunic-type shirts that are popular now. I saw some nice men's ones at banana republic.

Oooh, I agree with Dayna about Banana Republic (http://www.bananarepublic.com/browse/division/division_10.asp?cs_category=10). I went to look at their website because I'm not really familiar with their stuff. They have some very cool stuff! I love the embellished shirt in their evening wear section, and there are lots of cool dress shirts in different funky patterns and colours. Great inspiration I think!

Good for you for being willing to break out of the black mold! My bf is a black and blue guy and I've forever trying to get him to wear different colours.

For style, I really like the look of a nice button-up shirt (short or long sleeved, depending on the weather) with jeans or a nice pair of pants. It's casual and classic. You can have fun with different prints and colours. I also love simple tees on guys. A solid colour v-neck or crew neck t-shirt that is just tight enough. A light sweater would be great for summer nights. For a nice casual look on hot summer days, you can wear a nice pair of chino or cargo shorts in khaki or tan or even black and play it up with a colorful t-shirt or button up short sleeved shirt.

For shoes, a good pair of casual sneakers and a nice pair of black or brown loafers will go with anything for anytime.

For color, if you're the "Billy Idol" type, you should probably stay away from really intense colors (which would by why hot pink and bright green don't work). For myself, I always go with colors that make my eyes sparkle and make my skin glow. It's tough to find those sometimes, but they're soooo worth it. For you, I'd say purples and blues would be good and maybe certain shades of red and lighter shades of green. And if you still want to get use out of your black clothes, try pairing a black shirt with khaki or tan pants to avoid the monochromatic look. You can also try wearing black when it's with a print or another colour. That way you don't feel too unlike yourself, but you can break out once in a while.

Ultimately, it's how comfortable you are with certain colours. My bf would look great in red, but he hates the colour, so it's a no go! But experiment and have fun!

If I remeber your pictures (and my monitor didn't mess with your coloring :D )
I bet you look great in baby blue, I see you in a light weight button down. A nice linen guayabera with some nice dressy jeans would also look good on ya I think :)

I'm not sure how dressy you need to be, but you can always keep it simple and add a funky tie. Or, if you are a hat-person, wear a cool hat in a bright colour. Play with accessories. Women tend to wear more accessories, but guys can still have some fun!

Oooh..I like you already! Gowns & dresses? Makeup? You'd make the perfect shopping buddy..LOL! Seriously though, I understand your love affair with black because black is one of my favorite looks too. I think you are pointed in the right direction with the Armani look though..Armani makes for a sharp, clean look already. So, instead of buying the dark, Armani shirts..Why not go for a lighter blue? Like a sky blue since you already have those blue eyes. Do you typically wear jeans or tailored pants. With your look & personality, I would see you as being a bit more hip looking and less like a William Morris agent..LOL! I am gonna look at a few things on the internet and then I will PM you with a few pics.
