Help me out lovelies. In a month I'm seeing my lover, and yes I want to feel great about how I'm looking.
I know I'm not overweight, but my thights jiggle a bit when I walk and it makes me feel slightly fatty. Is there any excersises I can do to prevent this a bit more? I was thinking that thing from the Pilates video - where you lie on your side holding your head up and lift your leg up. Yep, I suck at explaining things.
I also do a few crunches at night. How many do you think I should do to get somewhat of a four pack by then?
Oh yesh, and I already have a baby-developed two pack.
 :)

you could do pilates. i'd invest in a tape or dvd. jennifer kries is really good. you have to do it proportionaltely to your whole body. you can do squats for your legs. you can do leg lifts side and back for your bum.
do about 100 sit ups. do side ones also. like turn your body with your hands behind you head.
i'd do push ups too. keep the upper body in shape.
then follow through with some good stretches.

I never even thought of side crunch things.
I'll do that. I think I'll probably do 50 regular sit ups, then 50 side ones. And do the leg things. I'll try scrounge up some money for one of those lovely disks.
I'll worry about push-ups later on. They take too much time to do before bed. Thanks!

I have been really interested in learning Pilates..I am not one of these people who thinks exercise should kill you; ya know? Do they have a Pilates tape for beginners? Yep..I think I am more of a Yoga/Pilates girl :D

Hey Lostlipgloss--Moderating your eating a bit will also help with the thighs. Muscles don't jiggle, fat does. Just cut out some of the "not so good" foods for the next month and I bet you will notice a difference. Pilates would be great because it will help tone the muscles as well as give you some cardio activity, which will help burn some of the fat as well. :)

They do and it's great! That's what I started out on. It's basically Pilates for Dummies, just like those books that are out. With the DVD there's a beginner and intermediate work out and it's all step-by-step with explanations and it will also show an easier move and harder move for some exercises that are done. This video is what got me hooked on pilates. And I still use it sometimes.

i do power yoga and pilates, let me say they are good work outs.
for yoga rodney lee...for pilates i use jennifer kries. she has a couple cardio ones out too. the moves are easy to follow.
the series is called "the method" she has a few dancers that made some videos too.
my husband had an xbox and there is an actual game that has exericises. it keeps track of you history and accomplishments. i really like to use that too. it has some hard work outs. so if you have an xbox i'd get it. :)

Thanks for the advice. My thighs have always been like that. I can't gain weight at all :(
But I'll definately try that. Lara, you seem like you work out a lot so if you say it helps then it will help.
Basically I made up a mini routine of crunches, side crunches, and leg lifts for both legs. Tonight I did pushups - but I can't do many. So I only did 15. I made up a blog to follow in a notebook - and if I do which I'm sure I will I'll be doing 350 a night when the time comes to see him.
Thanks for the help

To better target your legs, do some squats, lunges and plies. For abs, avoid the side crunches and concentrate more on regular crunches and the Bicycle Maneuver. Here are some of my previous posts that show how to do each one. :)Plies (http://www.makeup411.net/showpost.php?p=4726&postcount=5), Squats,Lunges and Bicycle Maneuver (http://www.makeup411.net/showpost.php?p=687&postcount=5). Do 3 sets of 10-15 reps. As for the chest and triceps, push ups are a great exercise. 15 reps are actually a lot for someone who doesn't do them on a regular basis. You should be proud. Make sure not to do them every day. Muscles need at least 1 day off in between workouts in order to fully recover. :)

Awesome.
Since last week I've been getting really bad Charlie horses. You know, those super bad pains that just are there but ease if you put your weight on them, but its hard to. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. In my calfs. I never really do to extreme of calf workouts, but is that why? I don't stretch much. I did last night, and I woke up with one but it wasn't as bad as usual. Is it cause I don't drink enough milk? My mom used to get them she said, but I don't think its a trait. I usually NEVER get them. Its just all of a sudden.
What do you ladies/men think/know?

Summer may be better at answering this one, but here goes: "Charlie Horses", or muscle cramps, can be caused by a lack of magnesium, sodium, calcium, and phosphorus or a potassium deficiency. The cramps can also be caused by over exertion of the muscles (muscle fatigue) or not properly stretching. Make sure you are drinking enough water because dehydration can also be the culprit. To try to avoid the cramps in the future, be sure to have enough fruits and vegetables in your diet and maybe take a mineral supplement. Also, make sure to do proper stretching during exerise. To relieve the cramp, slightly stretch the muscle and try to rub it out. I hope your cramps get better soon. :)

Lately I've been making myself drink more milk, and water so yes. I'll definately do more stretching. Lately I have been and I haven't gotten them. But is there any way to stretch my torso?

Oh yes! There is the Cat Stretch (http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:cFi8HuwdL0kJ:exercise.about.com/b/a/112259.htm+cat+stretch&hl=en) for the back. You can stretch your abdominals by lying on a yoga ball almost like doing a backbend. Or, you can do this standing by clasping your hands above your head with your arms slightly bent. Reach up and slightly back feeling the stretch in the abdominals.
Then, of course, there are the side stretches. While facing forward, clasp your hands above your head with your arms slightly bent. Bend to the right at the waist feeling the stretch on the right side of your torso. Return to the standing position, and do the same to the left.
