Default Buying for fun

Ever buy makeup that you don't need, but you just bought it because it's fun, or because you just had to have it?

I bought DiorGlam Palette yesterday... been wanting it forever, but held off cause I don't have a need for it. It's just purty to look at... and I love everything Dior really. I know it's for highlighting purposes, but I got a million products that do that, but I shelled out $55 bucks to just really... to look at it!

Any ladies have the same addiction?

OOOhhhh, yes! In the mid to late '60's there was a make-up line by Yardley of London called the London Look. It's advertisements were in Seventeen Magazine featuring the very popular Super Model, Jean Shrimpton. This line of make-up created one of the first lip glosses to put over lipstick ("Slicker Over, Slicker Under, or Slicker Alone" was the motto). It's famed containers of pink and orange stripes with black scroll work on the Slickers and the turquoise and Lavender striped w/ black scrolls on the lipsticks have made these real collectables! Check-out ebay as to how collectable these are! Those of us from that generation value, collect-to-admire often! Some are going for $110.'s+!

I have the same issues..The marketing depts. at cosmetics companies probably love me..LOL! I am not quite as bad as I used to be though but I admit that I love pretty things. From flowers, to shoes, to handbags, to art, to makeup..What can I say? I enjoy being a girl..

I am a nut for lipstick. I think I have about 50 tubes of it even though I purge them once in a while. One thing my husband promised is that we would always have money for makeup. Its a therapy. I may not need it but a shiny new lipstick can make a bad day better.

I don't usually splurge on anything over, say $15-$20. But I ALWAYS buy the little specials they have at the Lancome, Estee Lauder, Clinique counters. Simply because of one time at Lancome, they included a "dusk" e/s. Which Is now one of my prize possessions.
